Hi, I’m Deonne Moyers and I find myself the proud owner of D’s Beads. It all started innocently enough …
I’ve always had a creative streak and especially love to come up with new ideas to decorate my home for Christmas. I was searching the house for inspiration and ran across a shoe box of old costume jewelry. I took all the necklaces and earrings apart bought a spool of beading wire and started stringing beads on wire to create decorations for the tree.
With the help of my daughter-in-law, Maria, an accomplished beader, I learned how to finish the ends and do some wire bending. I was hooked!! There was no turning back; I started looking at beading magazines and books, purchasing beading materials and creating jewelry. People seemed too really like what I created, the pieces made them happy which made me happy.
With the help of many friends and family who gave me business and creative advice D’s Beads was born. The Bee was chosen as a mascot as they take what nature provides to create something wonderful, they are industriousness and according to legend have healing power, a relationship to the soul and help turn sadness into happiness.

I'm Maria Martinez and I started doing beadwork because I love doing crafts and things with my hands, being creative.Beading makes me feel very creative and excited because I am taking something that is inside my head and making it into a reality. My favorite types of beads to work with are natural stones and crystals such as seed beads, crystals etc.) and I enjoy creating earrings the most, but I also like to make other things like ornaments, necklaces, bracelets, etc. I especially like wire work and often make my own clasps. The world around me inspires my creations my friends and family also inspire my creations because I love sharing things I make with those I love and care about. I like to do beadwork because I like to give gifts to those I love, something that I have made specifically for them. I put a lot of effort into my creations and feel honored and proud when someone likes what I have made. I'm especially excited and privileged when someone purchases an item I have made and I hope they enjoy the item they have purchased as much as I enjoyed making it. I have other creative interests as well. I dabble with sewing and enjoy making new members of the family baby blankets and others lap blankets. I am learning to do scrap-booking and enjoy painting when I have the time.

Hello, my name is MaRee Hakola and I love to make beaded jewelry. All my life I've been involved in a wide variety of artistic work. It is so important to me that I use my creative energy to create something beautiful that someone will enjoy. I love to do all kinds of painting, needlework, textiles and along with my daughter, Chris, create beautiful cakes for Mom and Me Cakes.
What I like about creating designer beaded jewelry is selecting the most beautiful beads and allowing them to inspire the design. My favorite type of beads are natural gemstones like Agate and Jasper which I often pair with crystals for a flash of elegance and color. I love to feel the texture and weight of the beads as they are such a natural live art medium. My designs are classic and elegant and I design them with the objective of someone falling in love with a piece and feeling they must have it. When someone wears one of my designs I think that is the highest compliment I can receive. I hope you enjoy my handcrafted jewelry pieces.

Hello, my name is Chris Vlastelic, I started doing beading as another way to use my creativity. After visiting a few bead shops and looking at beading magazines I knew I had to learn how to do beading. Beading seems a natural extension of the other types of artistic work I've done and has given me great pleasure. I especially enjoy using seed beads and other types of beads to hand bead an intricate design. Hanging ornaments are something I love to make and I'm working on several ideas for beaded accessories of all type for the home. Woven bracelets are one of the beaded jewelry items I like to make, the challenge of combining color and shape together to create something beautiful is very intriguing and rewarding to me. Other creative pursuits I enjoy include various types of needle and textile work and along with my Mom, MaRee, creating beautiful cakes for Mom and Me Cakes. While I love to create a hand beaded treasure I experience even greater pleasure when someone chooses one of my creations for their own.
